    Let's go point by point:
    1. With PG Diploma in Journalism, you cannot pursue Ph.D. in English.
    2. Masters degree in ENGLISH will be surely recognised by most universities, whether it distance learning or regular.
    3. There is no distance mode PhD now, UGC has laid down clear guidelines of regular course.
    4. You can pursue Ph.D. in part time mode in which the regular classes are held in flexible mode.
    5. The only top university which curates PhD in part time mode is LPU, Punjab. You need to check the eligibility and selection criteria though.

    Hi,
A Ph.D. degree can be done only in the subject in which you pursue your Masters. The Ph.D. in English can be done only if you pursue your Masters in English Literature. Yes distance education for a Masters degree is valid for a Ph.D. in distance mode is not acceptable. You can pursue your degree from regular mode or part time mode. I can recommend LPU where the part time mode of pursuing Ph.D. gives you much flexibility of choosing your time slots for visiting the campus besides giving you the best academic and scholarships. You can browse the website to check details. Good Luck.

    1. You are not eligible for Ph.D. without any Masters degree. Post Graduation Diploma will not count in eligibility.
    2. Since you have done BBA and interested in Ph.D. in English, you should go for M.A. (English).
    3. Distance Masters Degree is not acceptable by most of the universities. I would advise you to go for regular Masters degree.
    4. Ph.D. in Distance mode is not recognised everywhere, but you can go for Part Time option, if you are not willing to go for full time.
    5. I would suggest you to have a look over Lovely Professional University, their Masters and Ph.D. programme is a

You cannot pursue Ph.D. in English. Aspirants are eligible to pursue a Ph.D. course only if they have completed their master's degree in a similar course/ field/ stream in which they want to pursue a Ph.D.
