To get admission in good Engineering colleges, you have to get a good score in the GATE. SO instead of joining a third grade college for M.Tech/ M.E., it is advisable to start preparation for next year GATE.

Sorry dear gate is must.Some university are offering Mtech without gate but their courses are not well known

There are many Colleges who conduct there own entrance exam for PG admissions like IIIT Hyderabad , You can try for such colleges
