I have completed Diploma in electrical and want to join B.Tech in IT. Is it possible?

Hello,
After the Diploma, one can take admission into the B.Tech courses directly. The candidates are required to appear in admission test in order to join the B.Tech Courses but the candidates who have completed the Diploma or ITI can take direct admission into 2nd year of the engineering in the
