Dear Venkatesh, after Diploma in Engg.you can get admission in second year of B.Tech. There are universities that are going to offer you admission on the basis of state/ national level tests as well as their own tests or on the basis of your marks in Diploma.
Universities like LPU, offer you good scholarships too.

Normally, lateral admissions are given to the students who have passed diploma in the same state. Of course, deemed to be universities can admit students on pan India basis but then you need to apply individually.
I would advise you to visit the web page of DTE of your state for detailed information. Also which streams of Diploma holders are allowed entry in which branches of engineering is also given there.
