    No, typically you cannot directly use a DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) to gain admission into a B.Sc Biotechnology programme through lateral entry; most universities only offer lateral entry options for a B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) itself, which allows you to enter the second year of the programme after completing a DMLT.
