To pursue a career as an IPS officer, one requires to write and qualify the UPSC exams , which are conducted in two phases: Preliminary test (CSAT) and Main Written Test.

Hi Devendra. The Examination comprises two successive stages. (i) Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination. There is a new syllabus from 2011 for this exam now also known as CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
