Yes, you can apply for the NET exam if you complete the post-graduation within 2 years of qualifying the NET exam. The NET Exam is held to determine candidates for assistant professor posts in colleges and university and for junior research fellowship awards. UGC NET exam is held for the arts, commerce and other stream candidates while CSIR NET exam is held for the Science stream students for the same purpose. The minimum eligibility to apply for the NET Exam is post-graduation degree for the recognised university with more than 55% marks. However, B.Tech final year candidates can also apply for the same, but they will get the NET cert

    Hello Kriti,
You have taken a right decision to give the NET exam. At present time, UGC NET is the best option to make a bright future in the field of lectureship and research. But to apply for the UGC NET exam, you should have a Masters' degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks. If you will complete your post-graduation with Information Technology, you can apply for the UGC NET Computer Science. So you should first apply for the Masters' degree.
