Yes, you can pursue an M.A. In history with a B.A. In literature. Most of the colleges require you to have a Bachelor's degree to apply for an M.A. In history. A B.A. In history is not necessary for an M.A. Direct admission is available for M.A. Courses at universities like Amity University. To apply for admission to prestigious central universities like BHU, you can also sit for the CUET-PG exam. This Shiksha page provides more details about M.A. History programs: https://www.shiksha.com/humanities-social-sciences/history/colleges/m-a-colleges-india?sby=popularity.

Yes you can. As per my knowledge, you can do it for admission you have to cleared entrance exam which is basically on the basis of basics of history which is done in B.A. Mostly University or autonomous colleges given syllabus for entrance as you are changing your subject field after clearing exam you'll get admission in history. Still it's my suggestion just confirm on official website of universities. Mu. AC. In for Mumbai University.
