The scope, as of now, in India, is stuck only on librarian post whether it is an academic/public library. But in the rest of the world, library science is also known as information science and is a very promising course, companies like Google, AOL and Bing are opening great opportunities for them. Go ahead with LIS and apply in big MNCs.

There is a lot of opportunity for candidates as a librarian. They can get hired by schools, universities and colleges. Besides, now even corporates have started providing library facilities to its employees to upgrade their skills and knowledge.
