You can apply for Ph.D in various research institutes with the help of the JEST exam.
TIFR also has an entrance exam for Ph.D. You can try out UGC NET exam for JRF (junior research fellowship) it increases your chances of getting Ph.D for a specific subject (i.e. the specialisation you are looking
