I have done my PhD in chemistry. Is it necessary to give NET exam for assistant professor?

    There are so many candidates who have asked this question that whether it is compulsory or not to have a UGC NET Certificate to become a lecturer. So, here you can check the perfect solution to this query. As per the UGC guidelines and rules, it is mandatory to clear UGC NET Exam to become an Assistant Professor or Lecturer. Candidates who have completed Ph.D. are also not exempted from this exam, however, such candidates get 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks for NET Exam.     Hi,
    Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D, Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulation,2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SLET/ SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent position in any University.
