Yes prasannna you can appear with environmental Science as a subject because there is no specific subject for zoology. Candidates securing at least 55% marks in their Master's Degree or equivalent from a recognised university in Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. Are eligible to appear for the UGC NET exam conducted by NTA.

Hello Prasanna, In my opinion, there is no specific syllabus for Zoology in the NET Exam but you can take your exam in environmental Science. As you completed your Masters in 2003, So you can apply for an only assistant professor, not for Junior research fellow. For applying for Junior Research Fellowship -Age must not be more than 28 years. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories. You can also apply for CSIR NET Exam in Life Science. Candidates should be maximum 28 years [33 years for SC/ ST/ PwD/ female candidates and 31 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates]. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Masters degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc.) from a UGC recognised college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories is 50%.
