I have got 74% in 12th. Can I give improvement exam for 2-3 subjects as I want to appear for JEE 2019?

You are already eligible for JEE. But. If you want to improve your marks, more than that is also good. But, for JEE you should focus on the main paper first.

Yes, you can go for improvement exam. If you really want IIT, then go for it. 74 percent is not bad, if you want NIT or IIIT, because you have to prepare for both JEE and boards simultaneously, you may face some difficulties. Yes, you should go for the improvement exam, but I prefer you to only appear for those subjects only in which you have not scored good marks as if you will appear for all the subjects, then it will create a lot of burden on you, which will result in poor performance in JEE Mains.
