I have got 85% in M.Sc physics from MMU, Mulana and 72% in B.Sc from KUK. What is the further procedure to get admission in Ph.D physics?

    Hi Robin,
    For admission in Ph.D in physics, you will have to give CSIR UGC NET exam and qualify it and in private universities, you will have to give a apply by filling the application form and send your resume. And you also have to constantly visit their website.

    To get admission to the PhD in Physics programme at Lovely Professional University (LPU), you must pass the LPUNEST (PhD) entrance exam and interview
     
     
    • Eligibility: You must have passed your Master's Degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grades.
       
    • Entrance exam: You must pass the LPUNEST (Ph.D.) entrance exam. 
       
    • Interview: You must perform well in the interview. The entrance exam will be worth 80% of your final selection, and the interview will be worth 20%. 
    You may be exempt from the entrance exam if you have qualified for the following:
    • UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF) examination

    Your are absolutrly eligible to get an Admission in Ph.D in Physics as per your the latest qualifications. Please refer the eligibility criteria which is as follows:-

    Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam)

    You need to qualify LPUNEST followed by an interview. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam)
    a) Master's degree with 55% aggregate marks in a relevant discipline or equivalent, subject to clearing LPUNEST and Interview;
    b) Other conditions as prescribed in the Guidelines for Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes. (5% relaxation to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-able candidates)

LPU accepts a variety of entrance exams depending on the programme. The primary one is LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test) for most UG & PG programmes.

For engineering (B.Tech), LPU also accepts JEE Main scores.

For management courses (MBA etc.), exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, NMAT, and sometimes CUET‑PG are considered.
