If you want the best in fashion designing then you may sit for NIFT exam to compete for the top fashion designing institutes in India. -
You can do a Diploma from NIFT or you can do certificate courses from NIFT, Pearl, Raffles, NID, etc. These short term courses will help you with all the technical aspects of fashion design. I'd suggest you to focus on getting industry experience with internship or shadowing designers. Make contacts. You can also do some local sewing courses to sharpen your skills however that is only to understand the garment construction.
