I have lost my highschool original marksheet. Is it a big problem on marksheet verification day after qualifying a government exam?

Yes, you should get back your mark sheet as it will be useful for you while you join your college/job/certification. As per Indian education system, it will be used almost everywhere you need to showcase your professional background.
