I have non-IT background but had Maths in 10+2. Going to give CET 2025. Can I get direct admission in a vacant seat if I don't score well?

Being non-IT background, will it affect the admission procedure for documentation in Offline mode?

    Absolutely!  Even if you do not have an IT background, as long as you had Maths in 10+2, you are eligible to attempt CET 2025 and apply for Engineering or courses that are associated.

    • If CET is not strong for a few top rounds and there are a lot of colleges in the CET system, many colleges still fill in vacant or leftover empty seats every year through management quota or institute-level rounds.
    • So yes, you might be able to achieve direct admission in a private Engineering college after the completion of the Counselling process if seats are available. 

    Typically, the fees for Management quota seats are more than Government quota

    Yes, students from non-IT streams who have had Mathematics in 10+2 can appear for CET 2025, especially for technical diploma or lateral entry engineering stream programs. Even if you perform badly, direct admission through vacant seat counseling (institution-level round) is an option, especially in private colleges or self-financed institutes of states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat. For instance, in Maharashtra CET 2024, more than 20,000 engineering seats were vacant in the last CAP round, and most institutes admitted students in these seats directly.
