I have received counselling date from UPES. My interests is in CSE & aeronautical engineering. My father's option petroleum.

You should go for your interest because it is you who is going to do engineering. But placements of petroleum are quite good in comparison to CSE. But it is a waste if you are not enjoying what you are doing.

I agree with Shivam, adding to it, you will get subjects like Aerodynamics, Structures, Propulsion, Antenna, Orbital Mechanics etc., in aerospace. It depends on you now to choose your preferred branch. Choose it wisely based on your domain of interest. Also, remember that the availability of any branch is also a vitae to choose. Now it depends on you to select your priority.

Hi. If you are interested in CSE/aero. I would suggest go for it. If you put all your efforts in what are you interested in. And if you achieve good heights in your dream course. There would be no pressure from your family. Best of luck.

The answer of this question lies on the interest of the student. In the field of petroleum engineering subjects like fluid mechanics, basic mechanics at the initial level and drilling, hydraulics of drilling fluids, production engineering, reservoir engineering etc. Will come on your path while in computer science engineering basic C, C+, Java to data structures, completed programming at the higher level and coding will be the subjects you will have to go through. It's the interest of the student how he takes up the subjects and hence the branch. Having said that computer science engineering has a very large crowd and few lines of a famous poem were Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and I took the one less travelled.
