I have secured 42 percent marks and the qualifying marks are 40 percent. Why have I not qualified the UGC NET exam?

The cutoff marks differs for each sections and papers. The qualifying marks also plays a role in different categories. If you belong from general category and the cutoff is 50 percentile, you will not be able to clear the exam. Moreover it is also required to clear and maintain specific marks in both the papers of UGC NET.

The qualifying marks is 40 per cent marks for general category. However, the candidates must not smilarize the qualifying marks and the cut ff marks. The cut off marks is different from the qualifying marks. The candidates who secures the cut off marks is considered to be qualified for the UGC NET exam. On the other hand, the candidates securing the qulaifying marks the UGC NET exam is eligible to get qualified if they secures the cut off marks.
