I have secured 42 percent marks and the qualifying marks are 40 percent. Why have I not qualified the UGC NET exam?

The cutoff marks differs for each sections and papers. The qualifying marks also plays a role in different categories. If you belong from general category and the cutoff is 50 percentile, you will not be able to clear the exam. Moreover it is also required to clear and maintain specific marks in bot

The qualifying marks is 40 percent for general category. However, the candidates must not equalize the qualifying marks and the cut off marks. The cut off marks are different from the qualifying marks.
