I have studied nursing, but I would want to switch to medicine. How many years will I be spending for medicine?

Just as long as anyone else- maybe longer since you will most likely have to do a post-bacc. Medical schools do not give extra credit for a nursing degree, because nursing is a very different field that emphasizes and teaches different things. Nurses that want to become an MD must jump through the same hoops as everyone else that wants to be an MD.
