It's very nice to know that you want to join CBI. It's one of the best organisation involved in detection of crime in India, but this is made up of basically Police officers from IPS cadre which are brought on deputation to this organisation and then repatriated to their parent Organisation in many cases. So if you want to join CBI you need to join actually IPS that is you will have to clear civil services examination and then select IPS.
