Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills and knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Hi Anshuma,
The career that you wish to look forward depends entirely upon your area of interest and your skills.
Your passion in a particular subject and your caliber for attaining the highest level of specialization, will eventually lead to a phenomenal career path.
I would therefore suggest you to consider your skills and strengths to boost your career plans.
Don't bother about this that you failed to clear NIFT exam.

-Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is an countrywide examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology
-GATE qualified candidates for IIT's
-National Council for Interior Desig

No problem Anshuma go with your interest. Pursue a course you are interested in. If designer is what you want to become go for a degree in fashion designing or interior designing. Don't bother about this that you failed to clear NIFT exam, you still have options to choose from and go for your degree from a good institute.
