I m a btech in mechanical engineer, have 3 yrs of work exp.Need some info regarding carrier in SAP for a fresher.

I am looking for a alternative carrier in SAP or other field related to IT, Presently working in merchant navy, Not happy with this job. So please suggest me some thing. dont hv any exp related to IT field. WILL i face any problem because i am from mechanical background.
