    He/she opts for a B.Tech major in mechanical engineering. Then, he/she appears for GATE and if they have a valid GATE score, they give entrance test of various institutions which offer M.Tech in Mechanical engineering (Weapons). That is how you get into weapons manufacturing. Mechanical engineering is in the core of weapons manufacturing. Mechanical engineering is needed at various steps of weapons manufacturing.
