I m b.tech final yr student from Computer branch, I am so much interested in Filmmaking field, So I want to go with this area. Sir, Is good to change field? and what is process to go in this field for me?

    Director of IIM Banglore once said, go for a job where you're ready to work 10 hours a day with a smile! Basically he wanted to say that just work where your interest lies.
    If you're planning to hop industries DO NOT worry. Lot of people do that. Specially the engineers, when they go for MBAs :P. And there are a lot of people with engineering background in the media industry as well.
    Now, how to get there?
    Qualifications do not matter that much when you're trying to get into film making; people start working even before completing their graduation. But one things for sure, breaking into the industry won't be that easy. It'll be helpful if

    Hi,
    The ideal options after B.TECH are-
    M.E or M.TECH
    M.SC IT/CS or M.C.A
    MBA in IT
    You should stick by your domain in order to have an added advantage in the competitive market. At the same time, it is very important that you opt for or look at doing something that you are good at and would enjoy keeping in mind your personality, aptitude, ability, strengths and career goals.
    If at all, you want to switch over, go ahead and pursue a career in film making which is probably the broadest and most varied creative opportunity in mass media.

    I agree with the contention working for long hours does not matter at all as long as it is interesting.Even the earning also may not count very much.
