Any graduate can go for IAS examination.
The whole examination process it divided into three stages.
1) the preliams ( general awareness) 2 papers
2) mains ( GS and two optional papers. one has to opt from the given list of subjects any two subjects for in-depth knowledge )
3) interview

yes you can start preparation for IAS exam there are many subject you have to choose any two subject but for main exam ist exam is CSAT exam is same for all candidate
