I'm detained,but what it means?I need to go to college,to attend the class or just prepare for finals?GTU has new schemes?

I'm in Mechanical Engineering,GTU.GTU syllabus for engineering has been changed.I'm detained due to failing in exam.So,whether I have to give exams in old syllabus or they will enroll me in previous year with new syllabus?
