I'm doing my B.Sc in physics & want to do MBA after that. Can I do i? Will there be any disadvantages for me? Am I eligible for IIMS or IIT?

Yes, you can do MBA in any stream that you want. There is no disadvantage, as you are doing it after B.Sc. And yes, you are eligible for IIMS also. For that, perform well in CAT exam.

Hi Bindia, Yes, you can do MBA if you want to. To get admission for MBA in one of the reputed colleges, you need to have your graduation in any stream of 3 years completed with minimum 50% percentage. In addition, you need to answer any of the entrance exams for MBA entrance like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, CMAT, etc. and pass it with a very good score. After that you have to clear Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds of the college in which you want to take admission. I don't think there will be any disadvantages. However, It will helps you in opening more opportunities. You will have more career options. And now, if we talk about eligiblity for IIMs or IIT, let me tell you the eligibility criteria for that. After that, you can decide are you really eligible for iims or IIT. IIM:- The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. In case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Able (DA) category, this is relaxed to 45%. The candidate may possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Candidates appearing for the final year Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. The candidate is required to have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/DA category) based on the latest available grades/marks IIT:- Candidates satisfying all the following criteria are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced). Should be among the top 2,24,000 candidates in JEE (Main). Should be less than 25 years of age. For SC, ST, PwD candidates the age limit is 30 years. Should not have appeared in the JEE (Advanced) exam 2 years before or earlier. Should have appeared for the Class XII Board Examination for the first time in the last year of the exam or that year only. Should not have accepted admission in any of the IITs earlier. Should have passed Class 12 Board Exams with minimum 75% marks. Hope this will help you

Yes, you are eligible for MBA in IIMs and Masters programme in IIT. However, the admission criteria are different. Both of these courses follow different entrance tests & conditions. Please visit the respective institute's website and get an understanding of their requirements.

You have asked 3 questions. Here are the answers- 1. Yes, you can do MBA. 2. No, there are no disadvantages as such. I know people who had biology background, did MBA and now in an MNC. 3. As long as you meet the required criteria, you are eligible for the top colleges. CAT cutoff (incredibly high) and consistent academic records are a must.

Yes, you will be eligible for all the MBA colleges. In IIMs, you will even get extra points for academic diversity.
