    Hello,
UGC NET exam is held every year in the month of June and December. The June exam process completed on 8th July 2018. Now it's time to prepare for the NET exam to be held in the month of December.
NET Exam is held in two phases- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is held in the aptitude and reasoning section, while Paper 2 is held in the subject you have selected in the master's programme (English in your case). There are more than 80 subjects in the UGC NET exam.
To prepare for the English section, you can take help from the books given below-
    Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary
UGC NET English Literature by Arihant
    Truemans English Liter

To notch up the good score in UGC NET, you need to prefer good reference books which cover the complete syllabus and also contains model test papers. The list of books for UGC NET English is as follows:
UGC NET English Literature Arihant Publication
    Truemans English Literature preparation books
Objective Approach to English Literature Ivan K Masih
Objective Approach to English Literature by Bhim S Dahiya
English Literature by B. B Jain
But remember that you can apply for the NET exam in your M.A. Final Year or after completing the M.A.
