I'm in the 2nd year of BE in automobile and I am thinking to start preparation for GPSC, what do you think?

You can start preparation for GPSC if it is your primary goal. But don't compensate for it in your BE. Make a proper schedule and study according to that. You have 3 years in your hand and they are plenty if time management is right. I would suggest solving sample papers and old papers at weekends t

There are a plenty of books in the market, and they all are good. At present, you start by reading newspaper daily and get those 100 page GS books available in market. After you finish this book off, then get individual subject books from a good publication like Arihant.

Yes, it's a good idea. But you have focus very hard because you opting two hard things one be and another GPSC.
