NEXT (National Exit Test) is a national level exam introduced by Government of India for medical students. It is the part of NMC (national medical commission) act for determing the eligibility of an individual for medical council registration and gives a license to practice medicine in India. In 2026, NEXT exam is likely to begin and 2022 batch of MBBS will be the first batch to be eligible for the NEXT1 and NEXT2 exam in 2026. This is going to be the final examination for MBBS programme and clearing it will grant them eligibility for internships and practice medicines. So, NEXT 1 is essential for them to clear.
