Hi, Master of Social Work is Post Graduate Degree in the Social Work, a two year course for gradates in social work or related field, united under UGC. Hi Ansuman, Good to know that you want to become a social worker and work in the development sector. Well, the entrance pattern varies from university to university.but the common topics for the entance are 1. Human rights and Child rights 2. Laws and acts related to women and child welfare 3. General Awareness 4. Communication Skills There will also be a descriptive part which is based on some case studies and the possible solutions which you'd like to give incase you come across such situations. Hi Anshuman, there are many jobs for the students who have done Master in Social work. To pursue MSW, one must be graduate. Anthropologists, sociologists and Psychologists are also suitable for the professional training social workers. Graduates in Sociology / Social Work / Psychology get preference. Written test and interviews are taken for the admissions. As for the work opportunities, they work with community groups, government and voluntary agencies, clinics, hospitals, sanatorium, etc. The future for the social workers are good as rural development, adult literacy, preventive health, etc are the new agendas of government. Professionals are being employed in private hospitals. CARE is recruiting from several places like Delhi School of social work, Jamila Milia and TISS, Mumbai.
