The lack of confidence could be due to following reasons
    1. due to lack of proper grab on concepts - Follow proper books
physics - HC Verma/ SL Gupta
maths - RD Sharma/ ML Khanna
    chemistry - OP Agarwal
    2. inability to solve difficult problems - This could be due to lack of practice and hence i would suggest you to practice as much as you can.
Also try solving previous IITJEE, AIEEE and other engineering entrance papers. Though the difficulty level of IITJEE will be different from these, it will help you get a good hold on concepts.

The best way of increasing confidence is to find your weakest area and to focus on improving that. In the beginning you may face difficulty but one by one when you will solve the problem you will boost your confidence. First of all, always think what you have instead of thinking WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE. If you focus on what you do not have, you will never get success. Further, specify your goal. This will help you.
