i am pursuing my BBA Retaill operation from SMU DE, wanted to know how bright and lucrative my career would be? which are the sectors and section i can apply for? and what should be my next step as pursuing a degree after BBA Retail operation? Pls help
Hi Sonu,Retail Industry is booming in India today and the growth seems to go up with the growth of various industries like food Retail, fashion retail etc. Although, the scope of Retail Management is increasing but as it is still a budding field moreover, as you are doing your graduation through a Distance learning programme, how helpful this would be to get you a right kind of job and career growth is really doubtful. Advisable would be that if you are looking for real return on investment you should opt for a Masters level degree i.e. MBA through a decent full time Institute However, there are not many good Institutes providing a degree specifically in Retail Management, so, if you get this specialization in B- Schools like NIRMA, Narsee Monjee, Welingkar etc. you can go ahead, else go for MBA in Operations or Sales & Marketing through good B-schools as both these areas will cover retail, and most of the good B-Schools will have these specializations. If you cannot go for the option suggested you can try and find a job after completing BBA and then after earning good work experience opt for EMBA programme. Hope this resolves your query.
