    Hi,

    The IES exam offers various engineering branches, and you'll need to opt the one that is most closely related to Production Engineering background. The closest options would be Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering probably, based on the specific courses you've taken in your degree.

    Other than that, you'll also need to fulfill some basic eligibility criteria by the UPSC, that conducts the IES exam. These criteria are being an India citizen, having a minimum educational qualification, and being within the specified age limit.

    Yes, you are eligible to apply in the last semester of your course. Please read the notification on the UPSC website for all the details of the exam.
