I m studying in SE(EXTC). Why do companies offer software jobs to Electronics and Telecom students?

Sir, I m studying in SE(EXTC). I have heard through campus placements companies(eg. TCS) offer software jobs in & not related to my stream. Please help me know more.

    Very nice question u have asked Bhushan. Actually generally Engineering Colleges wants volume placement records for their Institutions. In that case TCS generally takes fresh students from various Engineering Colleges to make a head count for the International companies to grab the project from the market after showing the bench strength and college also feel happy for showing the Nos in the placement record.
