i passed 12th with 55%.. i'm doing engg (ETX).i got 4subjects back out of 6 and now i have to give 9 papers total..should i take a drop

if i had to go to 2nd year i must pass out all the 4 subjects which i have failed..if i will study this subject then rest of 5 will be back and after going in 2nd year(3rd sem) to qualify for 4th sem i'l have to study thoe 5 subjects which i have failed in 2nd sem.. my scores are not upto the mark.
