I've completed my Ph.D from BGSU, USA (2018). Do I need to appear for NET exam if I am applying for assistant professor position in India?

Hi Shrinkhala, This is a grey area and I will advise you to contact UGC directly. As per news and updates, if a candidate has registered before 2009 there is no need to take the NET but there is no update on how far this has been implemented. The requirements also depend on your area of research, university recognition in India and so on. You may also contact some universities and create a personal rapport to understand the requirements and flexibility. Unfortunately, nothing much can be advised now.
