    Hi,
You have got a decent score in your class 12th. Yes, you can join without writing any entrance exam, but those colleges won't be good and you should not expect good placement and faculty.

To appear for JEE Mains entrance exam is usually mandatory to get admission in any reputed engineering college. But, in case you have failed to, UTM - Shillong is a great option for you to apply. They provide specializations in fields like cyber security, cloud computing, automotive design, etc.
Below mentioned is the eligibility criteria:
    1. You need to get minimum 50% marks at higher and senior secondary level.
    2. You need to get minimum 50% aggregate in physics, chemistry and mathematics at senior secondary level.

Without appearing of any entrance exam, you can join private colleges. But, you should not take that risk as they will give you admission, but after four years you will end up with nothing. You should invest a year for preparation and get into a good college.
    Best of luck.
