You have a good chance of getting decent NITs. Many Individuals have a mindset that north-east NITs are the worthless. So, I am here to clear this vague and obnoxious thought, as I am an alumni of NIT Agartala.
For a better Placement scenario, I will suggest you go for circuital branches.

If you belong to some reserved category then you can get admission in NIT. Else it would be difficult for you to get admission.
