I've heard that it is good to do a job before appearing for MBA entrance exam. Is it true? What should I do?

I'm pursuing engineering and in my 3rd year.

Yes, it is advantageous to have work experience especially if you want to do MBA from IIM and abroad but it is not mandatory. I suggest that first, you finish your engineering with good percentage and then prepare for CAT for minimum 6 months and try to get 90 percentile or above. Then, apply and get admission in top B-school to pursue MBA in your chosen specialization.
