I've joined B.Com correspondence from SMUDE but UGC is saying that B.Com SMU distance learning is not recognised by UGC, is it true?

Yes. SMUDE is by far the worst Distance Education programme in India. Only its BBA MBA, BCA MCA B.Sc. And M.Sc. In IT are recognised by UGC. UGC revoked its recognition earlier in 2016 but renewed some courses for 2017.
