There is tremendous scope in every field. You should pursue a stream based on two things :
- your career goal
- the type of job you want to do

If you look for salary you might get it but you may not enjoy or grow further.
Look for excellence and money always follows it if you are using it for right cause.
First understand what are you passionate about? If you follow your passion then you will be fruitful.

No salary is a big salary. Some mechanical engineers earn more than CS and sometimes CS earns more than mechanical engineers. It all depends on HOW YOU WORK, FOR WHOM YOU WORK AND HOW MUCH YOU LOVE YOUR WORK.

Mechanical has more scopes as mechanical engineering fields dont face as much recession as CS or IT industries do.
though u will need a lot of hard work in mechanical. while CS is relatively simpler.
