Hi, Civil Services offer an attractive and challenging career to the ambitious, the aspiring and the talented. *Eligibility- An Indian National Citizen A graduate in any discipline from a recognized university and In the age limit of 21-30 years *The examination has three stages i.e., (1) Civil Services Preliminary Examinations (CSP) - normally conducted during the second half of May. (2) Civil Services (Main) Examinations conducted during the month of October/November. Here, those who are selected in the preliminary examination only are eligible to appear. (3) Those who are selected in the main examination will be eligible to appear before the Interview Board at New Delhi. *Syllabus for Prelims Current events of national and international importance History of India and Indian National Movement Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization General Science Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills; Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision-making and problem-solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level) English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level) *Syllabus for Mains varies as per the optional subjects *Preparing for IAS requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition: *Get the right books for Prelims *Start preparing at least 10 months before *Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis *Cover the scoring sections early *Cover the syllabus strategically. Hi, The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) of India conducts the exam and on the basis of the result IAS, IPS, IFS officers are selected. The Civil Services Examinations are held in two phases - the first is called the CSAT which replaces the Preliminary Examination (Prelims). This has 2 papers - the general studies and general aptitude paper.The second Main Examination (Mains). After that, there is the Personality Test or Viva-Voce before the final selection.
