    A candidate is required to opt for one optional in mains when qualify prelims.if you have good command over your graduation subject go for it.otherwise select one easy and popular option like pub ad, geo,socio, pshyco,history,philosophy etc depending on your interest.

    Hi,
    I would say that there are a few criterion that needs to be kept in mind while selecting optional for IAS-
    *First and the foremost, the Candidate must be comfortable in grasping the concepts of the subject.
    *Availability of study material is also an important factor in determining the optional subject.
    *Candidate should not choose a subject just because it's said to be scoring or his friends are choosing it.
    As far as your prior educational background is concerned, you can opt for either of Science subjects or Medical Sciences along with any other subject for which you possess keen interest and passion. For forbidden combinations, visi
