Dear smita,
for becoming a collecter u need to clear a UPSC exam,
IAS exam is divided into three parts :- Pre Exam ,after that Main Exam ,and then Interview.
Pre exam:- there are two exams in pre exam first one is GS( general studies) and second one of the subject you select.
