I want to become a geologist . which degree shud i go for B.sc/M.sc or B.tech/Mtech. in geology. which of the two has better job opprtunity? if go for B.Tech/M.tech Applied Geology in IIT KGP , do i have to prepare for JEE or just GATE would do?

There is no branch of Geology in B.Tech. You should pursue B.Sc. & M.Sc.
