    Both CS and IT are sufficient degree to start career as Software Engineer. Core courses of CS & IT are similar. BTech UT concentrate of IT application courses. CS will give you strong theoretical background. Acceptance of CS graduates is higher in Indian IT industry therefore CS graduates have a bit advantage over IT graduates.
