I want to change my branch from mechanical to electrical or civil. Which branch would be appropriate for me?

Civil because being a core branch, you get a wide range of options in future. Civil has the most no. of vacancies in IES (Indian Engineering Services) exam, around 250, as compared to other branches and less competition.
